Community Leaders for a Sustainable Simcoe, or CLASS, was formed prior to the 2018 municipal election in Ontario. The Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition (SCGC) was the driving force behind the organization then, and remains so now.
The purpose was to highlight individuals who go out of their way to foster a better community for their neighbours, and ultimately for all Ontarians. These individuals might be seeking or elected to public office, of they might simply be those who put their own time and effort into making their communities better places.
Since it’s inception it has grown to include a large number of community organizations across Simcoe County. These organizations have collaborated on updating the pledge, which CLASS members sign and which can be seen here, as well as a Community Connection Guide, or Candidate Guide that is full of information on a wide range of issues.

The mission of CLASS is to support, connect, and grow the capacity and impact of community leaders across Simcoe County.
This is achieved by connecting like-minded individuals through networking events, organizing informative events, encouraging mentoring opportunities – put simply, we help promote good people and good ideas.
